Bike-In-Theater

Learn about how we brought this idea to life

About the project

Last summer we teamed up with the Brooklyn-based food blog and supper club Forking Tasty for a unique, modern twist on the classic American Drive-In experience: the Bike-In-Theater. Hundreds of riders sat and watched a movie on the Brooklyn waterfront while munching on snacks from Forking Tasty’s kitchen, including gourmet popcorn flavors.
We dreamed up the idea on behalf of a client who ultimately decided we were…let’s call it “off-brief.” So we decided to just go ahead and see if it could be done. Hundreds of bicycle and movie enthusiasts signed up to receive an email announcing the secret location on a Friday morning. Naturally, being that we were also encouraging a minor amount of hooky on a Friday afternoon, the movie of choice was Ferris Buellers Day Off.
