In its first-ever branded house experience, Instagram invited influencers, artists and content creators to Instagram Desert Chill, an Instagrammable mecca of eye-popping color, located at the Pond Estate, just outside of Coachella. Top creators were invited to come chill, create content and enjoy the sunshine before heading back to one of the most influential music and pop culture event of the festival season.
The design was a neon, desert landscape with a laid back, retro, Palm Springs vibe. The experience provided attendees with playful lounge seating areas, colorful murals, a pool and a scent shop for blending oils to create the perfect fragrance. Entertainment included DJs Simi Haze and Siobhan Bell as well as three unplugged acts, Harry Hudson, Snoh Allegra and Omar Apollo, who all performed under the swaying ribbons of the bright and breezy DJ station.

Manifold created photo moments throughout the experience including a circular fire pit area, filled with brightly-painted plants for a tropical chill scene, a curtained entrance featuring branded Desert Chill drapes and a photo-worthy bridge over a pond that led to a small island. Each were surrounded by real cacti and neon graphic elements intermixed to infuse a surreal element into real life scenery.
F&B complementing the overall theme included edible veggie gardens, bottles of wine and champagne surrounded by ice sculptures and decorated with flowers, and a cocktail station that served, among other beverages, fruity, adult “Capri Sun” drinks in plastic pouches.
At the end of the afternoon, attendees took home a VIP festival kit, which included sunscreen, lip balm, a portable phone charger, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, rain coat, water pouch, COVL stickers and bandanas, all in a clear tote bag – the essentials for making it through the Coachella weekend.
The most Instagrammable festival is making it official: Instagram will host its first-ever branded house at Coachella this year, taking place on Saturday.
It’s a tall order to build an Instagrammable space for some of your biggest users and influencers when you are, in fact, Instagram. But the brand delivered with, quite literally, a desert oasis 26 miles away from the epicenter of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for invited music and culture influencers.
